Factiod: did you know that Wally is known in the tattoo world as
one of the "Bowery Boys?"
Wally's father, a barber, learned to tattoo from legendary
tattoo artist Charlie Wagner circa 1930's on the Bowery in New York
City. He tattoed at #4 Bowery.
Wally followed in the tradition and tattooed on the Bowery in
NYC until 1961
Marvin aka "Marty" is the third generation of this dynamic
tattoo family.
This is a classic picture of Wally (on the far right kneeling) with his brother, his dad (Willy) and one satisfied customer known as "the Human Autograph". The picture was taken in the late 1950's.
